Two days workshop on ‘Analytical, Numerical & Statistical Applications’ was organised by the Department of Mathematics, NMAM Institute of Technology, Nitte on 28th and 29th of July, 2017.
The program was inaugurated by Dr.K.S Basavarajappa, HOD, Department of Mathematics, Bapuji Institute of Technology, Davanagere and presided over by the Principal of NMAM Institute of Technology, Dr.Niranjan N Chiplunkar.
Dr. K.S Basavarajappa gave a talk on ‘Numerical Analysis- Applications’. He also mentioned that most of the present day graduates are not employable because of their lack of comprehensive skills and fundamental knowledge about the subjects.
Dr.Niranjan N Chiplunkar in his presidential address spoke on the importance of Mathematics in every branch of Engineering. He also stressed on the point that most of the students fail to apply what they have learnt during their course. He directed the teaching staff to educate their students about the practical applications of the things learnt during the course.
30 participants from the institute and from other nearby institutes had attended this workshop. Dr.Shashirekha B Rai, Convenor of the workshop welcomed the gathering. Dr.Shankaran, HOD, Department of Mathematics was present in the stage during the inauguration event. Dr.Sharath Hegde from the dept of Mathematics introduced the chief guest. Smt.Kumudakshi from the dept of Mathematics delivered vote of thanks. Smt. Anitha Bayar, Dept of Mathematics compered the programme.
