REPORT A one week faculty development programme on Control of Power electronic converters – a hardware based hands-on workshop was organized by Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, NMAMIT, Nitte during 17th-21st, July 2017.
Inaugural function of FDP was held on 17th July 2017 at 10 AM in Sowparnika seminar hall, NMAMIT, Nitte. Dr. Niranjan N. Chiplunkar Principal, NMAMIT, Nitte was the chief guest. Dr. NageshPrabhu, Convener of the FDP and HOD of E&E department welcomed the gathering and wished for a successful and fruitful workshop. Dr. Pinto Pius A.J. Professor and coordinator of the FDP presented the overview of the FDP and explained the importance of having hands on experience. Dr. Niranjan N. Chiplunkar the Principal of NMAMIT inaugurated the FDP and appreciated the efforts of the department in organizing such a faculty development program. Mr. Pradeep Kumar, Asst. Professor gave away the vote of thanks. Ms. RakshaAdappa, Asst. Professor was the Master of ceremony.
The objective of the FDP was to address the complexities involved in generating gating pulses for switching devices like IGBT used in power electronic converters. It was a hardware based hands on workshop. Faculty members involved in research activities of different academic organizations were the participants. A total of twenty participants, nine external and eleven internal faculty members had registered for the FDP and had hands on experience in generating gating pulses and other hardware requirements of power electronic converters.
The FDP was attended by 9 external participants from various colleges across the state and 8 internal faculty. The valedictory programmed was held on 21th July, 2017 at 3.30 P.M. Dr. A.B. Raju, Professor and HOD KLE Technological University was the chief guest and distributed the participant’s certificates. The feedback from the participants were very encouraging. Dr. Pinto Pius AJ, Professor from EEE Dept. compeered the valedictory Programme.
