Swachhta Pakwada - NIPT

NSS Unit of Nitte Institute of Physiotherapy organized Swachhta Pakwada on 07/08/17. First program was an Essay competition for undergraduate students organized in library hall of NIPT for one hour on the topic “Role of students in keeping Society clean”. 47 students enthusiastically participated in the event which was coordinated and invigilated by NSS Program officer Mr. Rakesh Krishna. Second program was on campus cleaning organized in the college premises from 3pm to 4:30pm. 45 NSS volunteers participated in cleaning campaign. Before the start of session all the NSS volunteers, Principal Dr. Dhanesh Kumar K U,Senior faculty Dr. Ajith S, NSS program officer Mr. K. Rakesh Krishna, took an Oath on Swachh Bharat then cleaning campaign commenced in Class rooms, Staff rooms, Skill labs, Library Hall, Yoga Hall and Toilets, College corridors. Information regarding cleanliness was given by posters prepared by final year NSS volunteers. Vote of thanks was delivered by NSS program officer then refreshments were given to the volunteers and the program ended at 4:30pm.

On 08/08/17 at 10am NSS unit of NIPT organized awareness session on health and hygiene for residents of abhaya ashraya, Asaigoli. Ashraya President Sri Shreenath Hegde was the chief guest. Senior faculty Dr. Ajith S, Dr. Ajay Thakur, Mr. Purusotham Chippala, Mr. Subhashchandra rai, NSS Program officer Mr. Rakesh Krishna, and other faculties were present on this occasion along with 20 NSS volunteers. Talk on health and hygiene was delivered by Ms. Meghana Baliga post graduate student of NIPT in kannada language to the inmates by using audiovisual aids. Pamphlets with simple images of how to maintain hygiene and cleanliness were given to the inmates. Vote of thanks was delivered by sivakeerthi. Snacks were distributed to all inmates of old age home and program ended at 12pm.
