Engineer’s Day was celebrated on 15th September 2019 to mark the 158th birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Sir M. Vishveswarayya. The program was jointly organised by NSS & Rover units of M.R. Punja I.T.I at Tapovana, Thokur. A floral tribute was paid to the portrait of Sir M. Vishweswarayya.
The program was inaugurated by alumnus, Mr. Sharath K Uchil (1995-96 batch student) Proprietor, Ninada Musical Instruments, Udupi. He is the music director of ‘Bale - Telipale’, Tulu comedy show and 4 times award winner for best music direction. Mr. Sharath K. Uchil was honoured on the occasion. In his address, he advised the students to give importance to academics and pursue their dreams through dedication & hard work. He stressed on imbibing good values, respecting parents & teachers and remembering their alma mater.
Ms. Keerthana & Ms. Shubhashree recited the prayer. Mr. Nithesh welcomed the Chief guest. Mrs Shyana B, JTO and Mr. Raghavendra Adiga, JTO spoke on the occasion. Students Sudarshan, Shravan Shetty, Prithesh Amin and Winston Royal Moras also expressed their views. Mr. Ranjith proposed the vote of thanks and Mr. Likhith anchored the program.
Mr. Vishwanath Rao, JTO organised a Quiz competition which focussed on the life and achievements of Sir M. Vishweswarayya. The winners were awarded prizes.
The staff, students, NSS & Rover volunteers actively participated in the program.
