A Health Education Program was conducted at Kootegoode Anganwadi, Neere Bailur by interns, Ms Vaishnavi Reddy K and Ms Varna Pai B under the guidance of Dr Sanjay Kini, Asst. Professor, Dept. of Community Medicine, KSHEMA and Dr J D Hegde, Administrative Officer, KS Hegde Health Centre, Bailur on 29th April 2019. The target audience was young mothers, pregnant ladies, ASHA workers and parents of the children who attended the Anganwadi.
The talk was delivered in Kannada and focused on causes, symptoms and signs, treatment and prevention of anemia. The vicious cycle of anemia in pregnancy, benefits of immunization and vaccine preventable diseases was elaborately explained. An interactive session was held thereafter for an hour following which, they were also shown videos in Kannada about the topic and how they could incorporate easily available food stuff in their diet to ensure better health for themselves and their children.
