Though women are getting prominence in many fields in recent years, management positions, men still dominate. In the private sector also more or less the same state of things prevails. In the interest of a healthy society, it is necessary to provide more and more opportunities to women in management fields both in private and public sectors said Dr. Sundar Sarukkai, Director, Manipal Centre for Philosophy and Humanities, Manipal University. He was the Chief Guest in the Institute Day celebration of the Institute on 26th March, 2014. He expressed grave concern for growing inequalities in the Indian Society.
He called upon the higher educational institutions including management institutes to attend to the problem of inequality for ensuring social justice. He also released the 14th issue of the Nitte Management Review, a research journal of the Institute. Dr. K. Sankaran, Director of the Institute presided over the celebrations. Dr. N.K.Thingalaya, Chairman-Academic Council, Dr.N.S.Shetty, Professor- Emeritus, Dr.G.V.Joshi, Mr.Krishna Prasad and Mr. Jnaneshwar Pai also spoke on the occasion.
