A Continuing Dental Education programme was conducted on “Changing concepts in impression techniques” was conducted by the Department of Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics, A B Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences on 1st June 2016 at Thrimshati Bhavan. The programme was inaugurated by Prof (Dr) Krishna Nayak , the Chief Guest and Dean , A B Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences & Prof(Dr)Mithra N Hegde , Vice Dean , Dean of Faculty of Dental Sciences , Head of the Department of Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics, A B Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences ,who is also the Organizing Chairperson for the programme. The chief resource person was Prof(Dr)Kundabala Shenoy , Professor , MCODS with technical assistance by Dr Pallavi Patil , 3M , India.
The informative lecture session was followed by a demonstration & hands on session by Dr Pallavi Patil on the advanced polyether impression techniques;Pentamix and Monophase system, & Triple Tray Technique with tray adhesives. Various other 3M products;for Posterior Restorations – Filtek Bulkfill & Bulk fill Flow, Ketac Universal,Bonding – Single Bond Universal and Elipar Curing Light – Deep Cure L & S were also demonstrated. Also, a clinical demonstration was conducted by Prof(Dr)Kundabala Shenoy on polyether impression techniques. The programme was attended by 70 faculty members and postgraduate students from the institution.
