The Department of Pediatrics, K S Hedge Medical Academy, in association with Indian Institute of Emergency Medical Services (IIEMS), Kottayam organized the American Heart Association accredited course on Pediatric Advance Life Support. The program was held at NU-MEDISIM on the 2nd & 3rd June, 2018. Dr. Seema Pavaman S. and Dr. Smriti Sinha from the Department of Pediatrics, were the Course Coordinators.
Dr. K Shreedhara Avabratha (Dept. of Pediatrics, Father Muller Medical College), Dr. Lulu Serif (Dept. of Anesthesiology, Father Muller Medical College), Dr. Seema Pavaman S. and Dr. Smriti Sinha (Dept. of Pediatrics, KSHEMA) constituted the faculty. The Workshop was attended by 17 postgraduate students from KSHEMA, AJ Institute of Medical Sciences and Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore and Pediatrics Faculty from Sirsi, Kanhangad and Sullia.
The workshop began with a welcome address by Dr. Vijaya Shenoy, Head, Dept. of Pediatrics, KSHEMA and included audio-video simulation lectures, workstations and scenario practices over the next two days. The program concluded with a written exam and simulation testing in various pediatric emergencies.
