The 6th Nitte Inter-Collegiate Athletic Meet organized by NGSM Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences was held on 13th February 2019 at Nitte Grounds, Deralakatte. The event was inaugurated by Dr. Kishore Kumar CK, Chairman & Director of the Physical Education Dept., Mangalore University, Konaje.
The program began with the March Past by the students of the constituent colleges of Nitte(Deemed to be University) and the Chief Guest received the guard of honor. Dr. Murali Krishna V, Sports Advisor, NitteDU welcomed the guest, participants and the gathering. The Chief Guest advised the students to devote equal importance to participation in sports activities along with their academics. Prof. (Dr) CS Shastry, Principal, NGSMIPS addressed the gathering and presented a memento as token of gratitude to the Chief Guest. Mr. Vinay Prabhu of 3rd B.Pharm, NGSMIPS proposed the vote of thanks.
All the constituent colleges of Nitte (Deemed to be University) participated in this event. NUINS team (35 athletes) participated in all the events. NUINS March Past team (1st & 2nd B.Sc and 1st GNM students) won the First place and were awarded Rs. 5000/- as cash prize. NGSMIPS bagged the 2nd place and KSHEMA the third.
The Individual Championship - Men was bagged by Mr. Shafik and Individual Championship - Women by Ms. Nikhitha from ABSMIDS. Overall championship Men’s Section was bagged by KSHEMA and Women’s Section by ABSMIDS. Overall Championship was bagged by AB Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences.
