Nitte Institute of Physiotherapy in collaboration with the Indian Association of Physiotherapists organized a pre-conference international workshop on ‘Fasciocutaneous method and real-time ultrasound in the evaluation of treatment of Fascia dysfunction’ on 30th and 31st January 2019 at Chintana Hall, K S Hegde Charitable Hospital, Deralakatte.
The workshop was inaugurated by Prof. Dr. Umashankar Mohanty, President, Indian Association of Physiotherapists (National Affairs). Dr. Dhanesh Kumar KU, Principal, NIPT & the Organising Chairman, IAP welcomed the gathering.
Prof. Dr. Satheesh Kumar Bhandary, Vice-Chancellor, Nitte (Deemed to be University) was the guest of honor and presided over the event. The resource person for the workshop was Dr. Valentin C Dones III, Faculty, College of Rehabilitation Sciences, University of Santo Tomas, Manila, Philippines.
The workshop enabled the physiotherapists to easily and safely address the musculoskeletal dysfunction symptoms of the patient using minimal force and adding on to see the characterization of fascia using real-time ultrasonography. A total of 50 participants from various institutions of Karnataka participated in the workshop.
The chief guest for the valedictory function was Dr. Raghuraj U, Assoc. Professor, Dept. of Radio Diagnosis & Imaging, KSHEMA and the guest of honor, Dr. Ajay Thakur, Principal, Vikas College of Physiotherapy. Ms. Priyanka Nayak, Asst. Professor, NIPT was the convener of the program and coordinated the workshop.
