News from NIPT | World Physical Therapy Day

A webinar on ‘Developmental Pediatric Physical Therapy in Cerebral Palsy during the COVID-19 Pandemic - Reliability of the Virtual Clinic’ was conducted by Nitte Institute of Physiotherapy, on 8th September 2020, on the occasion of World Physical Therapy Day. The webinar was conducted in collaboration with King Fahad Armed Forces Hospital, Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; A J Institute of Medical Sciences, Mangalore and Yenepoya Medical College, Mangalore. 

Prof. (Dr) Satheesh Kumar Bhandary, Vice Chancellor, Nitte (Deemed to be University), delivered the inaugural address. Dr. Bindhu S, Additional Professor of Anatomy, Yenepoya Medical College, delivered a talk on ‘Exploring the structure and development of the early human brain’. Dr. Shilpa Hegde, FLDNDP, Asst. Professor, A J Institute of Medical Sciences spoke on the ‘Clinical aspects of Cerebral Palsy’ and Dr. Amitesh Narayan, Consultant Specialist, King Fahad Armed Forces Hospital, Jeddah, KSA and Professor, Manipal Academy of Higher Education (on sabbatical) spoke on ‘Developmental pediatric physical therapy in cerebral palsy during the COVID-19 pandemic - Inputs from the virtual clinic’.

The sessions were followed by a vibrant Question & Answer session. 

 A total of 155 participants registered for the webinar. The welcome address was delivered by Prof. (Dr) Dhanesh Kumar KU, Principal, NIPT who was also the Convenor.

Ms Aishwarya Nair, Asst. Professor, NIPT & Coordinator of the webinar proposed the vote of thanks.
