‘PLAN B’ a webinar on Evolving Trends in Corporate Communication, organised by the final year PG students of Nitte Institute of Communication was held on 3rd July 2021.
Prof Raviraj, Head, NICO introduced the delegates to the theme and Aditya Sandeep, Student Coordinator of the event welcomed the delegates.
The panellists for the webinar were Ms. Sunchika Pandey, CEO, HAT Media; Ms. Neelava Sen, Sr. Communication Specialist, Johnson & Johnson and Mr. Sayan Mazumder, Associate Creative Director, Ogilvy India.
The session took off with Ms Sunchika Pandey talking about her journey from a crime reporter to being the heart and soul of the popular ‘Mumbai Police’ social media handles. She spoke about how her team discovered the potential of social media and built a cult image for one of the most respected police departments of the country.
Emphasizing the importance of Internal Communication in any corporate, the next speaker Ms Neelava Sen said that writing relatable, simple and easy content will help people understand their organisation and its goals better. She concluded her talk by saying that communication professionals need to develop content that caters to business goals, establishes employee relationships and supports a culture that understands diversity and supports inclusion.
Representing the world of advertising, Mr Sayan Mazumder painted a brief yet insightful image of how storytelling works in advertising. He shared a few award-winning ad films to further reinforce this. At the end of the day, good advertising should help increase sales for the brand and storytelling helps achieve this, he said.
The webinar ended with a vibrant Question & Answer session. Student Coordinators Reeva, Tanusha, Jyosna and Sankirtha took turns in introducing the Speakers.
