The Department of Urology, KSHEMA organized a hands-on workshop on Vascular Access Surgery (Arteriovenous fistula) for Hemodialysis on 25th February 2023. The program was inaugurated by Prof. (Dr) Satheesh Kumar Bhandary, Vice-Chancellor, Nitte University and Dr. GG Laxman Prabhu, Hon. Secretary, Urological Society of India.
Prof. (Dr) Rajeev TP, Head, Dept. of Urology welcomed the gathering. The program focused mainly on surgical aspects in AV-fistula, including instruments, applied anatomy, imaging, complications, endovascular intervention and nephrology perspective.

Professor, Dept. of Urology, KSHEMA; Prof. (Dr) Raghuraj U, Head, Dept. of Radiodiagnosis, KSHEMA; Dr. M. Gopalakrishnan & Dr. A G Jayakrishnan, Dept. of CTVS, KSHEMA; Prof. (Dr) Arun Chawla, Head, Dept. of Urology, KMC, Manipal; Dr. Prajwal Ravinder, Dept. of Urology, KMC, Mangalore; Dr. Lenon D’souza, Asst. Professor, Dept. of Radiodiagnosis, Fr. Muller Medical College, Mangalore and Ms. Aneesha T, Coordinator, BSc Renal Dialysis Technology, KSHEMA delivered talks on important aspects related to vascular access. Delegates from various medical colleges as well as private practitioners participated in the program.
The hands-on workshop on ‘Surgical techniques for creation of AV-fistula’ in collaboration with Ethicon in the afternoon session was attended by 50 pre-registered delegates.
