The college organised a PTA meeting on 13th April 2023 at Sadananda Auditorium. Chief guest, Dr. PV Bhandary, Psychiatrist, Dr. AV Baliga Memorial Hospital, Udupi, addressing the parents said that children who spent adequate time with their parents have a firm identity. He mentioned that after Covid broke down everyone’s life has changed. He explained about three types of pressures that students face i.e, Pressure to Perform, Pressure to Confirm and Pressure to Reform. He also emphasized on the 4 A’s i.e, Awareness, Acceptance, Analyse, Action. Furthermore he spoke about the 4M’s i.e, Money, Media, Mobile and Motorbike highlighting on how it has a huge impact on student’s life.
Mr. Ankith S Kumar, Counsellor, Abhyuday, Dept. of Counseling, Welfare, Training & Placement, NMAMIT also spoke on the occasion emphasizing the importance of Counseling. Counselling is a process of listening to issues, general discussion on the subject and giving proper guidance. He mentioned that students often complain that their parents do not listen and understand them and hence they are scared to communicate with them. He requested the parents to ask their children if they were happy.
Dr. Veena Kumari BK, Principal highlighted the importance of teachers & parents who play an integral part in shaping the lives of students. She also showed her concern towards growing restlessness of the students.
President of Parent Teacher Association, Ms. Uma Upadhyaya also spoke on the occasion and shared her good thoughts about the college. Mr. Ramesh M., Student Welfare Officer and Mr. Prakash B, IQAC Coordinator were also present. Ms. Nishmitha Shetty, Asst. Professor, Dept. of Commerce & Management hosted the Meet.
