The Department of Periodontics, ABSMIDS in association with the Indian Society of Periodontology conducted a lecture and quiz program for the undergraduates as part of Oral Hygiene Day.
The inauguration ceremony began with an invocation song by Dr. Ayush. This was followed by the lighting of the lamp by all the dignitaries. Prof (Dr.) Amitha Ramesh, HoD delivered the welcome address followed by the presidential address by the Vice Dean, Prof (Dr.) Mithra Hegde.
The resource person, Dr. Anupama Rao was introduced by Dr. Akshatha Shetty, Asst. Professor. Dr. Anupama Rao delivered a lecture on the topic “Oral hygiene for overall health”. She briefed the audience about the impact of overall health on the periodontium and also the various plaque control methods to prevent, control and treat periodontitis.
This was followed by a Quiz competition for the undergraduates, where 4 teams each comprising of 4 students participated. The quiz masters of the program were Dr. Bharathi and Dr. Karthika. G, postgraduates.
Dr. Karthika and Dr. Uday, postgraduates were the masters of ceremony. The inaugural program concluded with the vote of thanks by Dr. Smitha Shetty, Coordinator of the event.
