MCI workshop on Basic Teaching Methodology was held at KSHEMA between 9 – 11th October 2013. The workshop was conducted by the Medical Education Unit KSHEMA with Dr Vijaya Shenoy as convenor. 25 faculty from KSHEMA were the participants. Dr. P M Anitha from the Regional Centre of Medical Education Technology, Kozhikode was present as observer.
The workshop was inaugurated by Dr Satheesh Kumar Bhandary, Dean, KSHEMA. The first day session was about teaching learning process. The second day was dedicated to teaching methodologies. On the third day, methods of assessment were discussed. There were group activities for question paper setting, MCQ setting, microteaching, large & small group teaching.
The sessions were very interactive and both the faculty & participants benefitted from these interactions. The MCI observer thought that the workshop was very good and met all the objectives laid down by the MCI. The feedback given by the participants was good. All the 25 participants were given their MCI certificates.
