Dandiya Raaz – 2013

India is a land of diversity and has unique culture. Culture has its own capacity to bind the people. Cultural uniqueness of India has contributed for meeting of minds of Indians. Our youths have a great moral responsibility to preserve our unique culture. We are known in the world for this. The true respect and concern for culture stems from our hearts. Heart is a true cultural reservior, said Dr. Mohan Alva, Chairman of the Alva’s Foundation, Moodabidri, after inaugurating the ‘Dandiya Raaz – 2013’ a mega cultural event organized by the Justice K. S. Hegde Institute of Management, Nitte on 25^th October, 2013. 

While speaking about Dandiya Raaz, Dr. Alva said cultural uniqueness and identify is well manifested in the puranic classical dance form of Dandiya, which depicts spiritual love and emotions. Dr. I Ramesh Mithanthaya, Vice Principal of NMAMIT, Nitte, was the chief guest. He said students need to develop a true devotion for culture.Director of the Justice K. S. Hegde Institute of Management Nitte. Dr. K. Sankaran presided over the function. Dr. Sudhir Raj K., Faculty Co-ordinator of Dandiya Raaz -2013 was present on the occasion. Mr. Saajan Suvarna, Mr. Ananthkrishna Shenoy, Miss. Verginia Risa, Mr. Gowtham Suvarna S were the student co-ordinators of the event. Miss. Amoolya Anil Rao delivered welcome address. Miss. Shaina Shetty proposed vote of thanks and Miss. Suvarchana compeered the program. Around 2000 students participated in the event. The Hindu Business Line, The Tribal Tattoo Shop, Mangalore, The Daiji World and The Big 92.7FM were the sponsorers of the event.
