Department of Community Medicine of K. S. Hegde Medical Academy organized a Health check-up and talk for Hejamadi Anganwadi children and their mothers on 14 October 2014.
This programme was conducted by MBBS intern Dr. Salma H Walikar, with the help of Ms. Tejakshi, anganwadi teacher. This camp was conducted under the supervision from Dr. Usha Rani, PG Dept of Community Medicine and the guidance of Dr. Sandeep Patil, Asst. Prof. Dept of Community Medicine and Mr.Santhosh N.P, Social worker Dept of Community Medicine.
All students were examined personal hygiene physical parameters, nutritional status, dental hygiene and various health issues. Health talk was given on Anemia for mothers of anganwadi children by Dr. Salma H Walikar and Dr. Usha Rani. One of the mother was found to be Anaemic ANC case and was referred to higher centre for further management. All children were found to be healthy and had average personal and dental hygiene.
