The Department of General Surgery organized a Workshop, "Basic suturing training Workshop" on 09-09-2016 at K.S Hegde Charitable Hospital skill lab.
A course of basic suturing training was held on 9th September 2016 in K.S Hegde Charitable Hospital skill lab conducted by Dr Ashok Menon Prof Jubilee Mission Medical College and Research center Thrissur Kerala co-ordinate by dept of General Surgery under the guidance of Prof Dr K.R. Bhagavan. HOD dept of General Surgery
This was held from 9 am – 2pm , the entire program was conducted using excellent audio visual aids with constant interaction between Dr Ashok Menon and all participants.
The program began with brief introduction of Dr Ashok Menon by Dr K.R. Bhagavan HOD dept of General Surgery.Dr Ashok menon began the session with introduction of instruments and suture materials , proceeded to hand knotting technique and skin suturing after a small break the second session included abdominal incisions and closure techniques.
Each session had adequate time for demonstration ,individual hands on experience and question answer session. Overall it was a very well organised training program supported by Ethicon ( Johnson and Johnson )was very helpful for the interns and post graduates in department of General Surgery.
