Guest lecture - NUCSReM

Nitte University Centre for Stem Cell Research and Regenerative Medicine (NUCSReM), K. S. Hegde Medical Academy (KSHEMA) arranged a guest lecture on Friday, 4th November 2016 at Sushruta Hall, KSHEMA. Prof. Polani B. Seshagiri, Head, Department of Molecular Reproduction, Development and Genetics, Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru delivered a lecture on “Pluripotent stem cells: Perspectives and prospects”. Presentation by Prof. Seshagiri was highly informative as he elegantly described the basics of pluripotent stem cells, such as embryonic stem cells (ESCs) and induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) and their prospective applications in both research and clinics.

Dr. Basan Gowda S. Kurkalli, Professor, NUCSReM welcomed the gathering and introduced the speaker. After the lecture, Prof. (Dr.) B. Satheesh Kumar Bhandary, Dean, KSHEMA presented a memento to Prof. Seshagiri as a token of gratitude and appreciation. The talk was well attended by the faculty, students and research scholars of KSHEMA, ABSMIDS and other constituent colleges of Nitte University.
