Medical check up and health education programme" on 27-10-2016 - KSHEMA

The Department of Community Medicine organized a Health Camp / Outreach Program, "Medical check up and health education programme" on 27-10-2016 at Montepadavu Anganwadi, Manjanady Village on the topic of personal and dental hygiene. This was carried out by the interns Dr Joe Christopher and Dr Jose Jom Thomas posted in Natekal.

AIM:
1.To evaluate the personal and dental hygiene and nutritional status of children.
2. To do a thorough medical check up of students.

SUBJECT:
A medical check-up and health education programme was held on 27th October 2016 at Montepadavu Anganwadi to evaluate the nutritional status and personal and dental hygiene. The students were examined to detect any pallor or respiratory diseases. Students were advised to cut their nails regularly, wash their hands before and after food, to wear chappals while playing to avoid injury. They were also advised to keep the surrounding clean. Need to seek medical advice and help were given more importance. The students who were suspected of any medical illness were given first line medication under the supervision of our Medical Officer. Students who needed advanced medical care were referred to higher centres.

CONCLUSION:
A total of 15 children took part in medical check up programme. Students are now better aware of the importance of maintaining personal health and hygiene.
