Students and staff of Nitte University Centre for Science Education and Research voluntarily participated in the Bone Marrow Registry Awareness and Donor registration program organized by NSS of Nitte University in collaboration with BMCDT-INFOSYS foundation bone marrow registry on 18.11.2016. Dr. K. M. Srinivasa Gowda, former registrar of RGHUS addressed the students on the need for bone marrow registry. He highlighted that, the availability of donors from South Asian population is particularly low and hence need to build a database of potential donors from the subcontinent, in the hopes of helping thousands of blood cancer patients searching for donors. Dr. Krishna Kumar B, PO of NUCSER coordinated the program.
