The first course delivery of Google’s “Applied CS with Android” was carried out under the ACM Student Chapter’s Mobile Application Development SIG recently at NMAMIT campus. This course was conducted under the guidance of the SIG faculty coordinators – Prof. Venugopala P.S., Prof. Ashwini B and Prof. Ankitha.
The course was coordinated by Google’s Applied CS with Android - Student Facilitator, B Shwetha Rao, along with a team of members including Glenn Thomas Alex, Pawan Bhandarkar, Bharat S. Naganath, Kashif, Adithya K. V.
The Google ACS facilitator from NITK – Jayant was part of the session and helped students get familiarised with Android and Java.
During the course of the workshop, the students built 5 apps which taught them how to implement data structures while developing gaming apps on Android Studio through Java. This course was implemented in the flipped classroom methodology as advised by Google.
