The Institute Industry Collaboration and Placement Cell of NGSM Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, organised a three day "Finishing School Program" for the final year M.Pharm and Pharm.D students graduating in 2018. The program was aimed to address the gray areas and common observation made by the prospective employers: "students despite being good in technical skills fail to match up to the corporate frequency and perform rather dismally on the much desired traits like effective communication, flexibility, perseverance, persistence, passion to perform and leadership".
Prof. Sunney Tharappan, Director - CLHRD, a renowned social scientist, life skills trainer and HRD expert conducted the program. He was ably supported by his colleagues, Prof. Chitra Kumar and Prof. Patricia Lobo. The program was unique with no lectures but participatory conceptualisation, experiential learning, Socretian questioning and skill-drills which compelled students to be interactive and participative.
The overwhelming feedback of the students is an indicator that the program true to its name has instilled enough confidence and courage in them to face the challenges of their next phase of professional pursuits, with ease and maturity.
