The Department of Public Health Dentistry, ABSMIDS in association with the Directorate of Health, Government of Karnataka and Rotary Club, Puttur had initiated dental health services at the Primary Health Centre, Nellyadi on 12.04.2017.
Dental services were made available at the PHC on 2nd and 4th Wednesday of every month. Till date, 1190 patients have benefited through these camps. Due to the increased demand for dental treatment, the hospital took an initiative to construct a new block exclusively for Dental Clinic and requested the Dental college to extend dental services on all Wednesdays.
The newly constructed Weekly Dental Clinic at Primary Health Centre, Nellyadi was inaugurated on 08.08.2018 by Mr. Sarvothamma Gowda, Member of Zilla Panchayath by cutting the ribbon and lighting the lamp. Mr. P.P. Varghese, Zilla Panchayath member along with Mrs. Usha Anchan & Mrs. K.T. Mallamma, Taluk Panchayath members; Mr. Jayanand, President, Grama Panchyath and Mr. Abraham Varghese, Rotary Club member graced the occasion. Dr. Krishnananda, Medical Officer, PHC Nellyadi; Dr. Audrey D’cruz, HoD, Department of Public Health Dentistry; Dr. Sahana Maben, Rural Program Coordinator and Dr. Deesha Kumari, Senior Lecturer were also present.
