A guest lecture on the topic “Interpretation of NMR and Mass Spectroscopy” organised by the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Nitte Gulabi Shetty Memorial Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Mangaluru was held on 27th November 2018. Dr Balakrishna Kalluraya was the guest speaker.
The lecture began at 1:45 pm with the keynote session. Keynote address was delivered by Prof. Dr K Ishwar Bhat, HoD of Pharmaceutical Chemistry. He introduced the guest speaker and briefed on the importance of the session.
The resource person, Dr Balakrishna Kalluraya explained the application of various spectroscopical methods. He introduced the gathering to numerous exclusive spectroscopical problems and challenges to elucidate the chemical structure by the given data.
The session turned more interesting when the spectroscopical graph was introduced, where the correlation of spectroscopical signals and the peak was analysed. This helped the students to improve practical knowledge in the world of spectra.
