The State Government of Karnataka has decided to play an active role in promoting the Startup India Initiative launched by the Prime Minister, Hon’ble Shri. Narendra Modi and has teamed up with Invest India, Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion (DIPP) & SingEx Exhibitions (India) for the Startup Karnataka Yatra.
The Department of IT, BT and S&T, Government of Karnataka selected NMAM Institute of Technology, Nitte as a venue for disseminating information on “Startup Karnataka Yatra". After traveling through Bidar, Gulbarga, Bijapur, Bagalkot, Belagavi, Uttar Kannada, Shimoga, the Startup Yatra vehicle reached NMAMIT, Udupi on 12th December 2018 at 10.00 am. The interaction program was conducted near the entrance of the main building at NMAMIT, Nitte.
Around 150 students from MTech and MCA participated in the event. The main objective of this program was to promote Start-Up India Initiative and boot camps providing a platform for students to pitch their startup ideas, which would be funded by the Government in the later stage.
Mr. Karandeep Singh, a representative from Startup India Yatra addressed the gathering on the agenda of the Yatra, Startup and Boot camps. Mr. Krishnaprasad Rao, Asst. Professor, Dept. of CSE welcomed the guests. Dr. I Ramesh Mithanthaya, Vice Principal & Dean Academics; Dr. Nagesh Prabhu, Co-ordinator, NAIN & Head-EEE; HoDs, Professors and staff from various departments actively interacted with the Startup India Team. Mr. Vignesh Pai, Dhanush and Mahesh, 1st year MCA helped in organizing the event under the guidance of New Age Incubation Network (NAIN). Ms. Ankitha A Nayak, Asst. Prof, Dept. of CSE delivered the Vote of thanks.
