As part of Community Health Nursing posting, the IV B.Sc Nursing students organized a Nutrition education program on the theme “Dietary modification for diabetic mellitus” at Fathima Manzil, Belma Renjadi on 28th February 2019. The program was held under the guidance and supervision of Dr. Neetha Kamath, HoD, CHN and Mr. Jince V John, Lecturer, Department of CHN. The nutritional health education program began with a speech on Dietary Modification for Diabetic Mellitus. Later the fourth year B. Sc Nursing students explained and prepared a ‘One day sample menu’ for the disease condition.
The menu for diabetic diet included arrowroot biscuits and black tea for Pre break-fast; upma, ragi dosa with tomato chutney and tea for breakfast; sugarless pomegranate smoothie at 10 am; buttermilk at 12 pm; brown rice, fish curry, spinach, vegetable salad for lunch; scrambled eggs with bread toast for tea; carrot juice at 6 pm and whole wheat chapattis with sprouted green gram curry and vegetable salad for dinner.
