Nitte(Deemed to be University) has bagged the prestigious SAKURA exchange program for the 7th consecutive year based on the project proposal submitted by Prof. Furukawa Seishi, Principal Investigator & Dr. Harish Madhyastha as Co investigator for JST Travel Fellowship Program, University of Miyazaki, Japan for continued collaboration with Nitte(Deemed to be University). Prof. Dr. Satheesh Kumar Bhandary, Vice chancellor, Nitte (Deemed to be University) is the All India Co-ordinator for the program
Eleven Clinical doctors from K.S.Hegde Medical Academy, Nitte (Deemed to be University) will be visiting the University of Miyazaki, Japan during the period from February 11th to 19th 2019, under the Sakura Science Plan at University of Miyazaki. This is part of the effort by Japan Science and Technology Agency to promote scientific and cultural exchange which is entirely funded by Japan Science and Technology which aims at enhancing exchange of the youths between Asian countries and Japan. By implementing exchange programs, it is hoped to activate various exchanges in the field of science and technology between two universities.
Participants from the university include Dr. Tanmay Bhat Professor, and Dr. Divyakiran Shivakumar, Post Graduate, Dept. of General Medicine, Dr. Shricharith Shetty, Asst. Professor, Dept of Dermatology, Dr. Vijth Vittal Shetty Asst. Professor, Dept. of Medical Oncology, Dr. Seema Pavaman Associate Professor & Dr. Ashwi Ramakrishnan, Post Graduate, Dept. of Pediatrics, Dr. Venkata Tejaswi, Senior Resident, Dept. of Radiology, Dr. Zulfiya Shabnam, Senior Resident, Dept. of OBG & Gyn, Dr. Prabhath Gujjadi, Asst. Professor, Dept. of Psychiatry & Dr. Raksha Ramesh, Post Graduate Dept of Surgery.
It is expected that the program will benefit the participants through laboratory visits and discussions with the scientists of Miyazaki University.
