New Age Incubation Network Centres are aimed at assisting the educational institutions to nurture an ecosystem for promoting entrepreneurship and innovation in different states of Karnataka. As part of the process, Dr. B.S Basanti, KAS, General Manager – Karnataka Innovation & Technological Society (KITS) accompanied by Mr. Mohan Kumar, Executive - KITS from NAIN team visited NMAMIT to inspect the facilities. Mr. Shashank Shetty, ICM, NAIN gave a brief presentation to the officials on various activities of NAIN from the year of inspection. Later, the team was taken through the campus and an interaction session was arranged with the students on the funded projects. The NAIN team was led by Dr.Niranjan N Chiplunkar, Principal of NMAM Institute of Technology.
Dr. B.S Basanti viewed the presentation of all the student projects which were sanctioned for funding. She interacted with the Heads of Companies and Start-Ups in the campus. During the interaction, the representatives demonstrated the various products developed by their respective companies and discussed their future road maps.
A total of 48 projects have been selected for the seed funding by NAIN from the year 2014. The visit of the KITS team was co-ordinated by the NAIN internal co-ordinators, Ms. Ankitha A Nayak, Asst Professor, CSE; Mr. Rajath Rao, Asst Professor, ME; Mr. Puneeth R.P, Mr. Krishna Prasad N Rao, Asst Professors, CSE and Incubation Center Manager, Mr. Shashank Shetty. The KITS team also visited the Centre for Student Innovation (CFSI) and appreciated the various research activities undertaken in the campus.
