Telecast of Youth Voters Awareness Program held at Nitte (Deemed to be University)

Janamata – Abhimata, a Youth Voters Awareness Program organized at Nitte (Deemed to be University) will be aired on Chandana TV at 8.30PM on 9th April 2019.

Nitte (Deemed to be University) in association with All India Radio, Mangaluru, Doordarshan Kannada and the District SVEEP Committee, Zilla Parishat, Mangaluru, conducted a voters awareness program for the students of the University on 20th March 2019 at the University premises in Paneer Campus. The program was broadcasted live on All India Radio and will be telecast by DD-Kannada (Chandana TV) on 09-04-2019 at 8.30PM.

Sri Selvamani R, the CEO, Dakshina Kannada ZP was the Chief Guest. Prof. (Dr.) M. Shantharam Shetty, Pro-chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Satheesh Kumar Bhandary, Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. M.S. Moodithaya, Pro Vice-Chancellor, and Dr. Satheesh Rao, Professor, Nitte (Deemed to be University) were present. They urged the young voters to exercise their right to cast their vote as responsible citizens on the election day. In addition, students from Nitte (Deemed to be University) spoke about the issues that affect today’s youth and voiced their opinions on what they would expect from the elected government.

A demonstration on the use of the electronic voting machine (EVM) was conducted by the office of the District SVEEP Committee ZP Mangaluru for the benefit of first-time voters.

Dr. Ushalatha Sarpady, the Station Director of All India Radio, Mangaluru, presided over the function. Dr. Sayee Geetha and Dr. Anirban Chakraborty, Professors, Nitte (Deemed to be University), co-ordinated the event and Mr Manohar Kadri, All India Radio, compered the program. The event was attended by the staff and students of Nitte University in large numbers.
