International nurses day celebration - 2019 - NUINS

It was an auspicious day for the faculty, staff and students to celebrate International Nurses Day which marks the anniversary of the birth of Florence Nightingale.

Mrs. Gracy Lobo, Nursing Superintendent, KMC, Attavar was the Chief guest. Prof. Dr. Fatima D’Silva, Principal, College of Nursing presided over the function. Chief Guest Mrs. Gracy Lobo spoke on the “National Theme -Nursing: The balance of Mind, Body and Spirit”. She emphasized the need for every nursing professional to find a pleasant balance involving one’s physical, psychological and spiritual faculty in the workplace. Further, she stressed on the importance for nursing professionals to unite and be the voice of the nursing fraternity.

In the presidential address, Dr. Fatima D’Silva stressed on the importance of having a positive outlook towards the challenges one may encounter in their workplace and anticipate better outcomes in their field of service. The program started at 9.30 a.m with a prayer song, followed with the lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries.

Mrs. Timi Thomas welcomed the gathering and the vote of thanks was proposed by Mrs. Mishal Mathew.
