International Day of Persons with Disabilities is an international observance promoted by the United Nations since 1992. It has been observed with varying degrees of success around the planet. It aims to promote the rights and well-being of persons with disabilities in all spheres of society and development.
An awareness program was conducted on the occasion of International disability Day on 3rd December 2019 at Lecture Hall 1 of Nitte Institute of Physiotherapy. Prof. Dr. Dhanesh Kumar KU, Principal addressed the students and motivated them to develop compassion for the disabled and treat them with respect.
Ms. Priyanka Nayak, Assistant Professor, Nitte Institute of Physiotherapy, also gave an overview on how to manage persons with disabilities and how they could be supported.
