A Memorandum of Understanding has been entered into between NMAM Institute of Technology, Nitte and Durga Motors Company, New Mangalore. Durga Motors is the authorized service agency of Ashok Leyland heavy commercial vehicles. The MoU was signed by Prof. Niranjan N Chiplunkar, Principal, NMAMIT and Mr. Uday Kumar, Managing Partner of Durga Motors Company on 7th December 2019 at Nitte campus.
With this MoU, Durga Motors will provide technical support to make the Automotive Learning Factory of NMAMIT an industry-powered one, as the lab is already equipped with Ashok Leyland BS-IV big bus chassis. Besides training faculty & students of NMAMIT to gain the required skills pertaining to technical changes in vehicles to meet BS-IV and BS-VI emission norms, this MoU also supports training of staff & students of other institutes in the region. NMAMIT officials, Mr. Yogeesh Hegde, Registrar; Prof. Srinivasa Rao B.R, Vice Principal; Prof. Shashikantha Karinka, HoD Mechanical Engineering; Assistant Professors Nithin Kumar and Raghavendra Pai and Durga Motors officials Mr. Arun Kumar Works Manager, Ms. Usha, Finance & Legal officer; Mr.Rohith Assistant Works Manager were present during the occasion.
