AB Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences commemorated “WORLD AIDS DAY - 2019” on 1st December 2019 at Samvedhana, Mangalore. Samvedhana shelters about 44 parentless and abandoned HIV affected children aged between 7 to 20 years. Samvedhana is a unit of Bangalore based Citizens Alliance for Rural Development & Training Society (CARDTS) and is functioning in two buildings in Mangalore - one in Kadri (for girls) and the other at Pumpwell (boys).
The Students Council of ABSMIDS conducted various programs for the children of Samvedhana which included diverse activities, games, dance etc under the banner “ANURAG”.
The staff and students of ABSMIDS generously contributed and extended their helping hand in sharing and caring for the needs of these children. Prof. (Dr.) U.S. Krishna Nayak, the Principal & Dean, ABSMIDS sponsored refreshments for the program. The Institution gifted an AQUAGUARD Water Purifier.
The program was coordinated by Dr. Sahana Maben, Clinical Coordinator, ABSMIDS.
