News from NMAMIT | FDP on ‘Embedded Systems and Wireless Sensor Networks for Internet of Things’

The Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering of NMAMIT, Nitte in association with Texas Instruments University Program and IIT Roorkee under the aegis of SPARC, MHRD, Govt of India supported by the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology, GoI organized a 5-day FDP on ‘Embedded Systems and Wireless Sensor Networks for Internet of Things’ between 20th and 24th January 2020.

NMAMIT is one of the 10 institutions in India selected to organise this FDP, which is recognized by AICTE at par with QIP for recognition / credits.

The inaugural function of the program was held on 20th January 2020. Mr. V. S. Ramesh, Director, STEPS Knowledge Services Private Limited, Coimbatore, India was the chief guest. He highlighted the importance of hands-on training in the current education system. Dr. Niranjan Chiplunkar, in his presidential remarks stressed on the need for interdisciplinary learning in engineering education. Dr. Sanjeev Manhas, Principal Investigator, E&ICT Academy, IIT Roorkee addressed the participants through Skype and highlighted the scope of the FDP.

The program began with an invocation by Mr. Anirudh & Mr. Sarthak.

Dr. Rekha Bhandarkar, HoD, E&C and the Convener of the FDP welcomed the gathering and highlighted the importance of IoT in the current context. Dr. K S Shivaprakasha, Organising Secretary briefed about the focus of the workshop.

Mrs. Shankari N, Asst. Professor, introduced the chief guest. Mr. Durgaprasad, Assoc. Professor rendered the vote of thanks. Mrs. Lavanya, Asst. Professor compeered the program.
