Students in the LEED Lab program at the Nitte Institute of Architecture, along with faculty members, Prof. Vinod Aranha and Associate Prof. Sweata Pradhan, represented the college at Greenbuild India held at ITC Gardenia, Bangalore on 6th and 7th February 2020. Students, Kavyashree and Dhanush Kumar from the tenth semester were volunteers at the event.

Greenbuild is an annual event for green building professionals organised by the United States Green Building Council (USGBC). While the flagship event is held in the United States each year, this international conference is also held in Mexico, China, Europe, and India annually.

Students attending the conference received a chance to listen to, and interact with the who's who of the green building industry including Mr. Mahesh Ramanujan, the President and CEO of USGBC, and Scott Horst, the Founder of Arc.

LEED Lab is an educational program developed by the USGBC where students assess the performance of a building on campus with the intention of earning LEED certification for the building. Nitte Institute of Architecture is one of the first colleges in India to start this immersive, experiential learning program.
