“One can lead a healthy life, if one devotes at least an hour to yoga practice everyday” said Mr. Prasad, District Convener of Sri Patanjali Yoga Shikshana Samithi, Mangaluru while addressing the faculty and students on the occasion of 6th International Yoga Day Celebration at Dr. NSAM PU College. He explained several yoga techniques to prevent various types of ailments.
Principal Dr. Naveen Shetty K. in his presidential speech said that people should refrain sacrificing health for wealth. He added that yoga helps in taking control of oneself, sharpens the intellect and calms the mind. It unleashes negativity and enables one to make the right decision thereby facilitating physical, mental and social wellness.
Mrs. Tanuja D Anchan, Yoga Trainer of Sri Patanjali Yoga Samithi demonstrated the yogaasanas.
The prayer was rendered by Mrs. Swathi; Mrs. Sangeetha Shetty welcomed the gathering; Mr. Vidhyadhar Takoor proposed the vote of thanks and Mrs. Meera Crasta was the master of ceremony.
Around 250 students also joined the yoga program virtually through online google meet platform.
