News from NUINS | CNE on ‘Qualitative Research Tools’

As a part of the Continuing Nursing Education, the first year M.Sc (N) students along with the Department of Community Health Nursing of NUINS organized a CNE on ‘Qualitative Research Tools’ on 12th March 2021 at the NUINS Learning Centre. Dr. Iddya Karunasagar, Senior Director, International Relations, Nitte DU was the chief guest and the resource person for the program. He explained the steps of selecting a good research problem. 

Dr. Fatima D’silva, Principal, NUINS, in her presidential address focused on the importance of research in promoting academic excellence. Dr. Sudeep Kumar Shetty, Dy. Director (Community Health), Nitte DU & Course Coordinator - MHAHSM, was the resource person. He dealt on the topic ‘Focused Group Discussion’. 

Dr. Lekshmi Radhakrishnan, PhD Research Scholar, ABSMIDS, gave a talk on ‘Conducting In-depth Interview and Analysis’. The program was coordinated by Dr. Neetha Kamath, HoD, Community Health Nursing, Dr. Jacintha Veigas, Coordinator, Nursing Education Unit and Mrs. Suchithra, Dept of CHN. Ms. Kedokhono, I M.Sc (N) welcomed the gathering. Ms. Sangroyangla, I M.Sc (N) compered the program and Ms. Kenie Penye proposed the vote of thanks. 

A total of 35 delegates, including 24 faculty members and 11 students attended the program.
