Keeping in view the COVID pandemic and the need for strict implementation of appropriate guidelines, the program was held through a hybrid mode, wherein the officials and the office bearers participated physically and the larger audience, comprising faculty members, research scholars, and students of NUCSER witnessed the events virtually through google meet.
The day’s event started with lighting the lamp and invoking divine blessings, customs that are synonymous with Indian culture and tradition. Prof. Dr. Smitha Hegde, Deputy Director, NUCSER & Coordinator of Student Welfare Committee, welcomed the gathering.
Prof. Dr. Anirban Chakraborty, Director NUCSER, administered the oath to the office bearers. In his speech, he spoke about the qualities of a leader and how the Council members should discharge their duties and contribute to the growth and development of the institute.
The other highlight of the day was the unveiling of the annual magazine of the institute, `ANVESHAN-2021’ by Prof. (Dr.) Anirban Chakraborty and Prof. (Dr.) Smitha Hegde along with the Chief editors - Dr. Gunimala Chakraborty and Dr. Deekshit, and Managing Editor - Ms. Navitha Quadros. In her speech, Dr. Gunimala Chakraborty reminisced on her association with the editorial team and thanked them for their hard work. On behalf of the Council, the newly elected President, Mr. Faiz Shaikh Hanif acknowledged the support of the institution in curricular and co-curricular activities and assured the Council’s best in fulfilling the needs of the students, while abiding by the rules and regulations set by the institution.
The events were coordinated by the Student Welfare Committee and anchored by Ms. Olga Furtado. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Krishna Kumar Ballamoole, Assistant Professor, NUCSER.
