News from NGSMIPS | Memorandum of Understanding

The exchange of Memorandum of Understanding between Nitte Deemed to be University on behalf of NGSM Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Deralakatte and leading pharmaceutical company GlaxoSmithKline, Bengaluru took place on 14th March 2022 at 1:00 pm through virtual mode.

Prof. (Dr) R Narayana Charyulu, Vice-Principal, NGSMIPS, Nitte DU, instrumental in bringing this MoU to reality was the moderator and initiated the meeting by introducing the officials of Nitte DU to the officials representing GSK, Bengaluru.

Prof. (Dr) CS Shastry, Principal, NGSM Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, presented a brief introduction of the institute, the rankings, awards, achievements, placement record and existing collaborations. He also stressed the importance of having a MoU between academic institutions and industries, to facilitate exchange of knowledge and expertise to accomplish mutual expectations and needs.

Ms. Archana Subramanya, Executive Vice President & Head Global Regulatory Affairs, GSK, Bengaluru, introduced GSK and highlighted the role of Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs in the Pharmaceutical Sector. She assured that the MoU with Nitte DU would serve to explore and maximize benefits in these fields. Ms. Smitha M, Associate Director, RIMS, GSK, Bengaluru, also highlighted the current development in Regulatory Information and Management System (RIMS) and expressed that GSK, Bengaluru truly believes in partnering with academia to churn-out thorough professionals to meet the growing demand in the field of RIMS. Prof. (Dr) Alka Kulkarni, Registrar, Nitte DU, expressed the importance of active participation from academia and industry in implementing the contents of the MoU both in letter and spirit by working towards realising the objectives envisaged therein.

Prof. (Dr) Satheesh Kumar Bhandary, Vice-Chancellor, Nitte DU, spoke about the existing International and National MoU’s of Nitte DU and its constituent Institutions. He thanked GSK Bengaluru for collaborating with NGSM Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences and assured unstinted and resolute support by the University in implementing the MoU.

The Nitte DU officials inducted and accepted the digitally signed MoU through the official display. Prof R. Narayana Charyulu wholeheartedly thanked Nitte DU and GSK Bengaluru officials, and all who were present for coming together on the virtual platform in making the MoU exchange, smooth and successful.
