The Department of Public Health Dentistry, A B Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences organized a one-day workshop on ‘Introduction to Occupational Health Research and Grant Writing’ on 12th August 2022. Dr. Geethu Mathew, Scientist-D, Regional Occupational Health Centre, ICMR, Bengaluru was the resource person. Prof. (Dr.) U.S. Krishna Nayak, Principal & Dean presided over the function.
Prof. (Dr.) Audrey M. D’Cruz welcomed the gathering. This was followed by an address by Vice Principal Prof. (Dr.) Mitra N Hegde. Dr. Deesha Kumari introduced the resource person and Dr. Thara Chandran delivered the vote of thanks. Dr. Sahana Maben compered the program.
The workshop comprised of three sessions. The program was attended by I & II year BDS students, faculty and Postgraduate students from neighbouring colleges. The resource person guided the students regarding the procedure for applying for ICMR STS grant and provided information on various research avenues in ICMR. Students also had an opportunity to clarify their doubts regarding the proposals they have already submitted.
