News from NUINS | Teachers Day Celebration 2022

On 6th September 2022, The SNA Council (2022 - 2023) & GNM students organized Teachers Day Celebration 2022 at K S Hegde Auditorium at 10.00 am for teachers under the guidance of SNA President Prof. Dr. Fatima Dsilva and SNA Advisor Mrs. Melba Drago. 

The Teachers Day Celebration commenced at 10:00 am with a brief introduction and welcome by the MCs Ms. Emima Suresh and Ms. Samkey Dolma. The program was then led with a prayer song sung by Ms. Shreya Thomas and the team. This was then followed by the lighting of the lamp by all the dignitaries. The Welcome Address was delivered by Ms. Ajal Maria George, SNA Vice President, NUINS. 

The Chief Guest of the program, Dr. Ishwar Bhat, Professor & HOD, Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, NGSM Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, then addressed the gathering. He started by wishing all the teachers a very happy teachers’ day and he told the significance of teachers in a student’s life. He also highlighted that September 5 is dedicated to Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, who was a great academic philosopher, diplomat, scholar, and above all a great teacher. The SNA President and Principal of NUINS, Prof. Dr. Fatima Dsilva, then delivered the Presidential address. She wished all the teachers on the occasion, and she also emphasized the devotion, determination, and dedication of a teacher to pave the way for a student’s bright future. 

Finally, the formal program ended with the vote of thanks proposed by Ms. Anorra Lewis, SNA Secretary, NUINS. The cultural program commenced with a fusion dance which was performed by the 1st semester BSc (N) students. This was then followed by a melodious song sung by Ist year GNM student, Ms. Nagawang Dolyang. After this, the students of 1st-year GNM








performed a Bollywood dance mashup. Each of the teaching faculty was given a gift as a token of gratitude to express their acknowledgment and recognition of the hard work put in by the teachers. Exciting and fun-filled games were conducted for teachers by Ms. Nina Philip of IInd year BSc and the prizes were distributed to the winners soon after the games concluded. Total of 350 students & 30 staff are attended the program. 

OUTCOME: The program was a grand success and well organized. All the students and teachers participated with great enthusiasm and were glad & satisfied.
