The Nursing Education Unit (NEU) and Student Innovation Club (SIC) of Nitte Usha Institute of Nursing Sciences in collaboration with IIC, Nitte DU, organized an event on 28th February 2023 at the University Auditorium, Paneer Campus to orient the staff and students to the concepts of Social Entrepreneurship, Entrepreneurship Skill, Attitude and Behaviour Development.
Dr. G Srinikethan, President IIC, Nitte DU was the Chief Guest. Dr. K Sankaran, Director and Mr. Nidhish H, Asst. Professor from Justice KS Hegde Institute of Management, Nitte were the resource persons. Prof. Dr. Jacintha Veigas, NEU & IIC Coordinator, NUINS welcomed the gathering.
Inaugurating the workshop, Dr. Srinikethan highlighted the importance of nurturing need-based innovative ideas with multi-disciplinary collaboration in healthcare. Prof. (Dr) Fatima Dsilva, Principal, NUINS emphasised the importance of mentoring innovative ideas and fostering entrepreneurial ecosystem in higher education institutions. Dr. Sankaran delivered a lecture on Concepts of Innovation & Entrepreneurship, Entrepreneurship Skill, Attitude & Behaviour and Mr. Nidhish discussed Social Entrepreneurship. An Ideation drive and a Brainstorming session was conducted at the end of the workshop and the participants were helped to develop a business plan on palliative care for the chronically ill patients in the community.
Ms. Emima Suresh, IIC student representative from NUINS compered the program and thanked the gathering. 10 faculty members and 100 students attended the program.
