The modernized Department of Periodontology, ABSMIDS was inaugurated on 31st March 2023 by Prof. (Dr.) M S Moodithaya, Pro Vice Chancellor, Nitte University and Guest of Honour Prof. (Dr.) Abhay Kolte, President, ISP along with Prof. (Dr.) U S Krishna Nayak, Dean ABSMIDS and Prof. (Dr.) Amitha Ramesh, Head, Dept. of Periodontology. The alumni were delighted to take part in the inauguration along with the Heads of all the departments as well as postgraduate students.
An alumni meet-‘Milaap’ was organized in the evening at Hotel Sai Palace Grand. Alumni from 1995 to 2019 batch assembled at the venue with a lot of gusto. The reunion commenced with the lighting of lamp and a prayer song by Dr Ayush Gupta followed by a captivating speech by Prof (Dr.) Amitha Ramesh. The evening started with a self introduction session by the Alumni and the postgraduates. Solo dance performance by Dr Karthika G followed by a solo song by Dr Ayush Gupta and a group dance by Dr Karthika Nair, Dr Geethu Venugopal, Dr Gauri Jayachandran, Dr Bharathi A, Dr Akriti, Dr Ayush Gupta. Dr Uday Simha, Dr Subhash Chandra, Dr Karthika G, Dr Surabhi Durgapal, Dr Dipanjan Das added color to the event.
Dr Sai Sreeja & Dr Sruthi Vijayan managed the registration desk and Dr Meghana Ivaturi anchored the proceedings. Photographs were taken by Dr Khushi.
A DJ night followed dinner, as the event's finale.
