The Department of Public Health Dentistry, ABSMIDS organized a CDE program on “Tobacco Cessation Counselling: Conversations for Change” on 30th May 2023 at Thrimshathi Bhavan, ABSMIDS. The program was organised as a part of the World No Tobacco Day commemoration. Dr. Akshatha Gadiyar, Reader, Goa Dental College was the resource person.
The Principal and Dean, Prof. (Dr.) U.S. Krishna Nayak presided over the function. Prof. (Dr.) Audrey M. D’Cruz welcomed the gathering. Dr. Deesha Kumari briefed about various programs organised and planned by the Department of Public Health Dentistry as part of the World No Tobacco Day. Dr. Sahana Maben introduced the resource person and Dr. Thara Chandran, Program Coordinator delivered the vote of thanks. Dr. Shilpa M was the master of ceremony.
The CDE program comprised of a lecture, interactive sessions and role plays. The resource person guided the participants on how to customise the Tobacco Cessation Counselling based on requirements of individual patients. Feedback forms were distributed after the session and the participants gave a positive response.
