The Annual Sports Meet held on 18th November 2023 in the school was a thrilling display of athleticism and sportsmanship. Mr. Madhu G R, Principal, Alva’s College of Physical Education was the Chief guest of the inaugural ceremony. The Sports Day kicked off with an electrifying opening ceremony, where teams paraded proudly, waving their flags and donning their colorful uniforms.
After hoisting the school flag, Mr. Madhu lit the Olympic flame which ignites the spirit of sportsmanship. In his address, he advised the students to avoid video games and play games in the open ground for promoting their physical and mental growth.
Principal, Ms. Shreelatha Rao, motivated the students to play sports as they help to build character and teamwork skills. She further added that sports could also be a career choice for them.
Laster, Mr. Madhu declared the Annual Sports Meet open and released the doves to mark the occasion.
Track events (400 mts, 200 mts and 100 mts races); Throw events(shot put for students of Classes V to X) were held. 4x100 mts relay was the most exciting moment of the day. Lucky games for parents and alumni were also organized.
The day concluded with the valedictory ceremony. Mr. Rudramani T, Retired Physical Education Teacher was the Chief guest. He congratulated the students for actively participating in the events. The school flag was retreated and handed over to the Principal by the Sports Secretary, Master Karthik. Winners of the house events were announced and the prizes for the same were distributed.
