News from ABSMIDS | Skill Development Refresher Program

The Department of Periodontology along with the Dental Education Unit, ABSMIDS and CURADEN organized a Skill Development Refresher Program on Individually Trained Oral Prophylaxis on 2nd February 2024 at Manana Hall, ABSMIDS for 3rd year undergraduates, interns, postgraduates and faculty. The resource person was Dr. Kishore Hadal, Head of Education, Curaden, iTOP. Curaden is the world’s no. 1 promoter of a new approach to oral health care, based on the iTOP method. iTOP enables one to become a perfect tooth brusher, and teaches how to transfer that knowledge to patients.

The program began with a prayer song by Dr. Ayush and lighting of the lamp. The welcome address was delivered by Prof. (Dr.) Amitha Ramesh,HoD, Dept of Periodontics. She introduced the speaker Dr. Kishore Hadal, the first Indian iTOP lecturer to the gathering.

Presiding over the event, Prof. (Dr.) Krishna Nayak underscored the pivotal significance of the program and appreciated Curaden's commendable efforts in educating both patients and dentists. Dr. Kishore Hadal`s presentation comprised a compelling lecture on effective Oral Prophylaxis methods, complemented by an insightful hands-on workshop tailored for the benefit of the participants.
