Dr. NSAM Pre-University College, Mangaluru, celebrated the 78th Independence Day on 15th August 2024, with retired Indian Army soldier Mr. Dayanand K Nayak as the chief guest. During the event, he urged everyone to honor and remember the sacrifices made by the nation's freedom fighters and soldiers. "Today's freedom is the result of centuries of sacrifice and struggle by our ancestors. We must always remain indebted to the freedom fighters and soldiers who made it possible for us to live in a free and glorious country. Let us remember their sacrifices,” Mr. Nayak said after hoisting the national flag at the college grounds.
Presiding over the event, Principal Dr. Naveen Shetty K emphasized the importance of independence urging students to appreciate the hard-won freedom and to work towards realizing the dreams of the nation's leaders.
In recognition of his service to the country, Mr. Nayak was honoured during the event. The program began with a prayer led by Ms. Spoorthi. NSS Program Officer Mr. Santosh Shetty welcomed the gathering; Ms. Shraddha delivered the vote of thanks and Ms. Beulah conducted the proceedings.
