Nitte University Centre for Science Education and Research (NUCSER) proudly celebrates the remarkable achievement of its alumnus, Rasik Dhakal, a graduate of the BSc (Hons) Biomedical Science program (2019-2022). Rasik has embarked on an exciting academic journey, joining the PhD program in the Department of Bioengineering at the Erik Jonsson School of Engineering and Computer Science, University of Texas at Dallas.
The program, known for its interdisciplinary approach that bridges engineering and life sciences, is a perfect match for Rasik’s aspirations to address critical biomedical challenges. Under the guidance of Dr. Dingal, Rasik will focus on zebrafish lineage tracing, while his work with Dr. Cao will explore evolutionary developmental biology using Ciona intestinalis. These projects aim to advance knowledge in developmental signaling pathways and evolutionary mechanisms.
The bioengineering program at UT Dallas provides a robust foundation in systems biology and biomechanics, while its collaboration with UT Southwestern offers unique opportunities for clinical and translational research. This synergy aligns perfectly with Rasik’s research interests, paving the way for meaningful contributions to developmental biology and bioengineering.
We extend our warmest congratulations to Rasik and wish him continued success in his academic and research pursuits. His achievements are a testament to the quality of education and mentorship at NUCSER, inspiring current and future students to aim high and achieve excellence.
